Call the server, ask for a menu, and say what you want to eat or drink.

to order; to choose
In restaurants, 点 means to order food or drinks.
Use 点 before a food word, or repeat 什么 in 想…就… sentences.
menu
菜 is food or dishes; 单 is a list.
Pair it with 给: 给我们菜单.
waiter; server
A polite way to call restaurant staff.
Say 服务员 first when asking for the menu or ordering.
to want; to think
Before a verb, 想 means want to do something.
Use 想 + verb: 想吃, 想喝, 想点.
to eat
Use 吃 for solid food and meals.
Ask 想吃什么 before ordering dishes.
to drink
Use 喝 for drinks, soup, tea, and water.
Switch 吃 to 喝 when the item is liquid.
Pick one item from each column. When all three belong together, they lock in as a match.
Put 想 before the restaurant action: 想吃, 想喝, or 想点.
Place 想 before an action to say what you want to do. In a restaurant, the most useful combinations are 想吃, 想喝, and 想点.
Translate: Order whatever you want to eat.
Use 点 before a food word, or repeat 什么 in 想…就… sentences.
Write the Chinese word for "to drink".
Use 喝 for drinks, soup, tea, and water.
